So today started off good spoonbills were out, the tide was perfect for the birds on the flat. Took a few shots then off to catch some redfish. Fished about an hour and then my husband caught himself. Yep hooked his own finger, had to go to the emerency clinic. So all in all we were on the water for a little over an hour and at the clinic for 4. Could they be any slower, oh yeah my husband is fine a bit sore but will live !!!
Oh same spoonbills I am guessing , same place just different day. There were around 25 there today. I put a photo off to the side so you can see them in a group.
What amazing creatures, Karen!!!! Their wings and feathers are majestic and surprising in their beauty … but those faces are so prehistoric and unusual!!! A creature of contrasts!!! Glorious capture … colors are incredible!!!!!
I agree with you they do have that prehistoric head, much like the woodstork known here to local as Ironheads, Close up an Ironhead is really an ugly bird but in flight beautiful ! I think the spoonbills at least have one up on the ironhead that beautiful pink really stand out around here anyway. Yeah hubby is fine, I am sure it wont be the last time that happens!
You are so lucky to have these birds in your ‘hood’. And I am lucky you photograph them so well that I can pour myself into your shots. Glad your husband is OK. Our hospital has a viewing cabinet full of hooks removed from fisherMEN! Hehe
Thanks Lee-Anne I’m all : ) So are you a nurse? I bet if I kept all the hooks hes had in his finger I would have a cabinet full by now too…. lol
