I captured this on the flats of Estero Bay Florida behind lovers key. The spoonbills are back. I almost thought they found a new feeding ground for I have not seen them in groups of 30 or more for some time now. It was low tide when I arrived at the flat. I anchored my boat less then 30 feet from them. They did not seem to mind that I was close, so I sat in my boat and took 100s of shots! I spent a good hour there watching them could have stayed longer but some people pulled up and let there dogs chase the birds away. I did manage to get a shot of them in flight. I did not want to upload photos of spoonbill after spoonbill so I put a few of my favorite shots off to the side. I hope you enjoy them as much as I.
