This Gator was captured at Cowbone Marsh in Moore Haven Florida Cowbone Marsh connects to Lake Okeechobee
What a great day for gators !! It did not start out that way. Around every bend there was a gator on the bank but before I could get close enough it would slip into the water. I was just about to give up when I came upon this one. I guess he was tired of that cold water and really wanted the sun for he let me get at least 10 feet away from him to get this shot !!
Thanks Kim, I have taken many gator shot since I have been photographing wildlife and with this angle its seem to show their size better. Can’t always get this angle but I try.
Great shot Karen! Looks like a 14 footer. What lens did you use?
Actually this one is around 10 foot, I love this one for all his teeth were showing. but the other one I put on line was at least 15 foot bigger then my boat, biggest I have ever seen. Scary too, first time in a long time I just didn’t want to get that close. I used the 300 mm and shot it at 300 mm.
