This photo was taken on the grounds of National Trust property Canons Ashby, looking through to the church.

The great strength of this beautiful tree near the strength of the church stone made me once again think about the contrasts and similarities between natural beauty and man-made. Both should be preserved.
The little bird house and House of God mirroring each other made me think about great and small, faith and the definition of home. Is home somewhere to lay your head, somewhere safe to sleep or a spiritual place? Is greatness a combination of size and spirit? Is a building such as spiritual as a garden?

From tiny seeds come great trees, flowers and food for birds and as they lay foundations for their lives so do we…in a very different way of course.

I am an amateur photographer living in the United Kingdom. I have been taking photos since I was 10 years old but also dabble in drawing, painting and design, in fact anything creative where I feel I can express myself. To me art is soul and emotion.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to look at my work. I hope you enjoy :)

It would mean a lot to me if you would look at the work that my Dad has also exhibited:

Beautiful capture, and love the descriptions. It’s an interesting comparison; the growth of nature vs. the growth of all things man-made.

  • Thank you very much Mui-Ling, I thought my interpretation of it would probably appeal to you :)

Speaks more than a 1000 words, Creative Em! Power and established strength, the tree and the church. Firmly rooted with the scars of history. Fantastic capture! Congratulations from Christiane
