One of our favorite campgrounds has this lovely little pond. I happened to catch it just right that day. You had to drive several miles on a very narrow twising road through the moutains of West Virginia to get there. Very nerve wracking, especially when you are pulling a trailer. Oh, and “Romance” is actually the name of the town!

    Excellent – the reflection is perfect. I like the different tones of green, the few deciduous trees to provide contrast and then the human element, the tiny church. An all-round wonderful image.

    A little town called “Romance”..we always stopped there on our way south. The campground is owned by a church, and the drive there is HARROWING when pulling a trailer. We haven’t been there in 10 years, all I can tell you is it’s off I-77 South between Ripley and Charleston.

    It was a fun place to camp, but a rather hair raising place to get to…hairpin turns on very narrow mountain roads are especially frightening when pulling a trailer! Thanks for the favorite!

    Congratulations on your win. I love this picture as I know the area well. I grew up in the Middlefork /Rippling Waters Area. Use to hang out at the pool before the Church bought the property and filled in the swimming pool,which was located just around the turn from this church.
