Although these kids looked sad when i took the shot, they were actually very happy and excited to have their picture taken. The sadness does however reflect the harsh environment these kids grow up in. This shot taken in the Tripoli Medina in Libya which part of dates back to Roman times. Nikon D80, 18-135mm f/3.5 at 50mm, 1/60 sec at f/8, ISO 100. . . . . . .
Torn and torn and torn again. Beautiful little faces, I hope they live long and fulfill their dreams, and that their dreams are good and kind, despite the rough streets.

Powerful and touching.
superb shot
Stunner of an image Craig – does one good to see how the other 90% live!! Those buildings are so old one can hardly comprehend it (compared with Aus!)
Fantastic capture Craig and I know I am very lucky to have what I have. Good to see how the other half live.
great contrast between happy children and the devastated background
stunning candid!
Makes you realize what we have is worth so much!! Yes a very sobering photo!
