Popular pages Confusion??
I wonder if any of you have noticed this? I was just browsing through the popular pages and came across an image that has had no comments? I think it was around page number 6? So i thought, thats odd. Then It hit me, that on the next pages, were images that have been commented on a lot!
So how do the popular pages actually work then? i thought it was from being viewed and favourited? But obviously i am wrong.

I have no idea how the popular thing works… I have some high scoring images i.e. comments, favs and views but have never been on the popular list.. maybe I’m just not a popular person :-)

Yeah, i was hoping the Cheetah image would make it so it would inspire my mate Adrian to get his ass on here! But not to be. Power poles with no comments is more popular? :)

I know what you are saying – I had 2 images on page 2 of popular the one with the least views was actually in front of the other one

I’ve always wondered how this works as well Craig! Any of mine that have made it on have usually had a fair number of views/favouritings but then I see some on there with no comments so it does seem odd. But I do sort of know the ‘magic number’ with mine anyway. I am really curious to know. I think it may have to do with how popular it is and how quickly maybe?

Everything was better in the beginning ;) plenty weird things happened this year, example missing work from people at your watchlist, missing artwork from shipping, missing Redbubble support email adress and the poular pages confusion etc. I guess it is the World Crisis syndrome :) :)

I think that favouriting a photo make a big difference to that. Some photos are favourited but not commented on. Some people have friends organised to favourite photos…..
I don’t worry too much about it any more.

Craig I’m confused…..and it has nothing to do with RedBubble – more likely my age. I agree, often I have had quite significant visits on a new image yet it never appears on popular pages….

Favs, sales, being featured, play a huge part in it – all of which don’t show in the comment boxes so you can’t judge easily … not sure that views come into it much at all … the system is easily manipulated by people who, as Gail says, seek favs and mutual support from friends. Being ‘most popular’ really is only a personality / popularity contest – it certainly does not always mean it is a good photo!!!
