kids now days

kids now days belongs to the following groups:

The Scots are Coming

playing outside kicking a ball
noisey kids climbing the wall
annoying residents as they try to play
no wonder they all
get chased away
on the streets till all hours at night
educated with drink & drugs
and the odd little fight
shouting at traffic what ever else they do
shout at them and theyll shout back at you
its not the parents but theyll get the blame
its the laws that have changed its an easy game
kids can come and go as they please
while parents suffer on their knees
doing their best to bring up their child
but its the laws that have changed
that make kids now days wild.

when we were young we learned respect
with a cuff on the ear and by the scruff of the neck
we were pulled of the street back into the house
and taught the difference between
man and mouse
a boot up the ass and hemmed in for a week
now its too easy and kids are sleek
you touch me and i’ll get you done
i know your my father but im just having fun
you wont tell me what i can and cant do
i’ll call the police and they’ll have you
you cant touch me im just a child
its the laws that have changed
that make kids now days wild

they want to be grown up in an adult way
but self controlled as most will say
making decisions whether right or wrong
its my life not yours
you’ll hear them go on
how can we teach when there’s laws to protect
how can they learn if they dont know how to respect
how can they learn if not by our rules
its the laws thats changing them
making us look like fools
you cant smack your kid
or give them a slap
the laws on their side
and i think thats crap
theres limits theres levels but theres the old ways
theres just no teaching some kids now days

smoking on buses or at the back of the school
well thats if they go, we dont make the rules
we pay the bills and all the expense
the law makes the rules
us parents are dense
ever changing politics and ever changing ways
the true blame for the actions of kids now days

this poem isnt aimed at every single kid
some are bad but then others are gid
some do as theyre told and dont do no wrong
some kids are weak but then others are strong
some kids care and some others dont
some do as theyre told but then some others just wont
thats kids now days

Excellent work i started off thinking another swipe at todays kid and ended by thinking a lot of what you say is true. your view may be a little extreme but its still valid, i understand where you are coming from i lived in sauchie most of my life and have seen the changes there as well as the surrounding villages more like inner citys than small villages!
i hope you are wrong when you say in the poem that “there is no teaching the kids now days” as i have a young son who looks at these kids hanging around the local shops and says he will never waste his time doing that.
lastly this poem deserves to be read by more people and i hope it will over time.
