NEFERTITI

Pencil drawing on A4 size Medium Texture Artist Canvas Sheet (primed) – 330 GSM. Size: 21cm x 29.5cm
___________
This is a drawing of Nefertiti (how I see her). She was the principal wife of Akhenaten and is best remembered today for her legendary beauty. But she was also remarkable in the power she wielded. After marrying the new Pharaoh Akhenaten, she became very involved in affairs of state and because she wielded such a great deal of political influence, she was often portrayed wearing a pharaoh’s crown! My kind of lady!!! Around 1340 BC she seems to have disappeared. Some historians say she changed her name to Smenkhara and ruled as co-regent with Tutankhamun and briefly as pharaoh after he died in 1336 BC.

Powerful drawing…capturing her beauty and her strength. Well done…seems like no electricity produces beautiful work.

A good book to buy re Egypt is ” The Egyptian Book of The Dead ( The Papyrus of ANI ). It is hieroglyphs. Reportably the oldest complete manuscript. I don’t entirely believe the translation of
E.A.Wallis Budge. To me, a picture of a penis is a representation of a penis, and someone sitting in front of what appears to be a television screen is someone sitting in front of a television screen. Don’t tell my psychiatrist I said that. Good luck with the project. Keep us informed please.

Sure does! Desperation & frustration lead to various artistic creations, in my case! Thanks so much for your visit & the lovely comment!

Thanks for the info, will certainly check it out! I believe in that too. What I create is what I “see” with my artist’s eye and that is what it is in the end. Will keep you posted! Thanks for the visit & comment! Keep well!

Thanks Robin. I have not uploaded all of them! And you are right, I think I will put them on my intro page as a series once I’ve finished painting them all. Thanks for the idea.
