Homeward
This image was taken on our way to Klamath Falls last year. I love the snow on this route, but the road was fairly dangerous. This is highway 66 in Oregon. It isn’t up to current traffic design standards, so you are looking at a drop off the edge of the road…into a large and steep valley.

Yep, it’s a bad road. Wonderful pic!
I used to go with my Ex to the corner of Ore, Nevada, CA to the Warner Mtns to rock-hunt, and to the Oregon-Nevada border to the Peacock Opal mine. Some of the opals I’ve dug there are good, in that they don’t “craze” and get powery when taken out of the ground. (They have to be kept, like most opals, in mineral oil, if you’re not wearing them.) And we got snowed on in June. June, will ya!? About 4 inches. -DS
