Tension

At the Portland State University there is this awesome statue in front of the engineering building. The structure is meant to emphasize the basic design properties of structural engineering. The entire structure is under tension, as you can see the image was take along the tensioned wire. In addition, there are reflective panels on the structure so that at night a beam of light is projected onto the panels. It is very pretty. The day I took this, it was really foggy.
