“There is no hope, no direction, and no point left in the world. And no one will ever do anything about it. We are handicapped by time and by our mortality. If we were to live for a hundred years we would still be as ineffectual. The only thing we know is death and blood”

*a hand in my mouth
a life spills into the flowers
we all look so perfect
as we all fall down
in an electric glare
the old man cracks with age
she found his last picture
in the ashes of the fire
an image of the queen
echoes round the sweating bed
sour yellow sounds inside my head
in books
and films
and in life
and in heaven
the sound of slaughter
as your body turns

but it’s too late

one more day like today and i’ll kill you
a desire for flesh
and real blood
i’ll watch you drown in the shower
push my life through your open eyes

i must fight this sickness
find a cure
i must fight this sickness…*

xD ok ok I will comment. Though both the title and the imagery are quite dark and gloomy. Poor thingie. I wonder what killed it. Looks like he was caught by a fire or something.
Lyrics and imagery mix together quite well here.
    Again, poor roo! =(

Hehehe Thanks AS :) The title and song are dark … but it’s true too. We plunder, it’s a part of what humans do. Makes you wonder when we will ever learn. It makes me sad and hopefully that is what this photo does too. The roo was hit by a car and had crawled off and died in the bush a little. It was fairly decomposed. I have a modded full sized photo, but wondered whether to post it or not. I guess art isn’t just about happy stuff all the time eh.

    You’re welcome.
Indeed, indeed. Not everything is happy (or surreal/fantasy in my case hehehe) I guess I have to repeat it… Poor thing. I read these type of accidents tend to happen a lot as roos move to human inhabited zones for food, considering the drought is taking away many of their regular food sources.
I totally agree with the humans part. I mean… We eliminate a lot of things in a certain area, without caring a damn on balance or anything. Recently, I checked an image of a kookaburra posted by webgrrl and decided to research a bit on them. These birds are not only funny and cool but also efficient rat/mice/snake hunters. Natural plague control! Instead of buying poison (that roos and other animals can eat and die from it) or hunting these animals… we should’ve let nature do the balance. But no, I recall the kookaburras are now kicked and placed only in national parks? I think it’s humanity what is making me sad recently.

It sure is humanity AS … we do what we want to do for OUR best interests. The sooner we learn to harmonize the better. Hopefully sooner than later. We are killing off so much of the rest of the natural world. This Roo … and a lot of others … was in the country. They are just so easy to hit, especially if you are doing 80kph. Just just jump in front of you, they seem to get attracted to the lights. Hopefully whoever hit this one got out and ended it pain and suffering …. something a lot of people wouldn’t think to do :( There are no Koala Bears in WA (that I know of) That in itself is pretty sad.

Ah, yeah, I can imagine they feel attracted by our shiny and dangerous stuff… Dogs usually go mad at cars too. I’m also glad at least they considered saving a lot of pain and suffering. I assume horns don’t scare roos anymore.

So the local fauna is being anihilated by a serious of sad reasons? =( That’s horrible considering how unique are RooLand™‘s animals. There should be a plan or something to help the local fauna and bring back balance. Isn’t Howard trying to do anything? For example, I told my friend that Australia called an argentinian company to build one of the most advanced nuclear reactors in the world (which is now operative and was inaugurated by Howard himself). I am sure that I read stuff regarding the fact that aussies don’t support nuclear power (like us, however, we have two reactors… irony!).
Damn, I hope it is possible to settle all these issues and stabilize things. Everyone is mainly aware of the current environmental situation, right? * hopes he’s right *
