    JORDY

the toughest cat ive ever met
has now layed down to sleep
    forever dreaming what he will
while us left here will weep

but now we do not need to cry
    he wouldnt want it so
he is flying with his wings
    catching birds before they know

he was looking tough and looking rough
but was a softy, you could see
    his spirit is forever here
    he is now forever free

    he will never be forgotten
    the battle that he lived
    will forever leave its mark
like the love he had to give

    so rest now jordy
special cat that touched right to the soul
    heaven will love you boy
    the new angel on patrol

Do not stand at my grave amd weep.
    I am not there
    I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
    I am the autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
    Of birds circling in flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.

May the love and fond memories you shared with Jordy

We all loved you Jordy .. you are a very special kitty

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Craig, I’m so sorry to hear about Jordy.
I have been trying to think of something to say, but all I can say (my heart tells me to) Is that Jordy was a beautiful soul, brave, survivor and toughest cat I’ve ever heard of. He was and will forever be in your heart as he is in all of ours.
He lived a long life (‘95-’10 that’s a really long time) The oldest cat I ever heard of. :)
Having not know Jordy personally, and having not gone through what you have with Jordy, I can not even imagine how this is effecting you. Nor can I find the right words to give show how sorry I am.
    To Jordy!
    May he rest in piece.
Hugs, Craig – my thoughts are with you. :]

One very brave, very tough little guy! I’m so glad he had his time here on earth with such a wonderful family. I’m also so pleased I was able to play such a small role in his amazing little life. I wish you well, Jordy, wherever you are now. xx

Hey Craig… I read Jordy’s story last night. Cried a bucketload of tears. You were both so very blessed to have had each other for the time that you did. Love to you and Jen xxx

Jordy had the heart of a lion in the body of a little cat.

His story shows that our animal friends have so much to teach us about life, love, acceptance and the nature of beauty, and we are truly blessed to share our lives with them.

Thinking of you Craig and all Jordy’s family who will miss him.

    Rest peacefully and pain-free Jordy.

He will always be your little Teddy Bear
We are blessed to have such special beings in our lives.
    He is still there
for he has inked his paw prints all over your heart
    still purrs into your ears
    peacefully slumbers in your soul

So sorry for your loss, I just heard about Jordy through Lucinda’s work. What a remarkable animal he was. I read his story. Animals do indeed become part of our souls, they ask for nothing in return but love. I have had some wonderful friends through the years, they live on in my heart and memory. I am sure that Jordy is chasing butterflies across the heavens and carrying within his spirit the love you bestowed upon him. Blessings always my friend.

jordy will always be with you , i have been through this it seems like a 100 x’s and more, i do rescues and they all touch our lives in one way or another, and it is painful when they do pass, but he will always remain in your heart , and never be forgotten, and there will always be another cat that will come along and touch you in a different way , not replacing jordy , but i think they do send one that needs love as well your way , i am sorry for your lose ,

    Cat Poem

    They will not go quietly,
the cats who’ve shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
    their spirit still survives.

Old habits still make us think
we hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.

Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
    we miss them terribly.

And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them. . . and always will.

This is the most touching story I have ever read/seen. I wish I following this when it happened. I currently have 2 cats of my own and have had cats all my life. From what I read Jordy was a special cat that no one can compare. I will never forget this story and how strong the both of you were throughout everything. This is love. RIP Jordy

  • Craig Shillington:

Thank you so much for your touching words Ashlee! hugs
