I’d love to see this myself one day. I’ve been to Perth & Mandurah several times, but not made the Rock yet. Classic formation.
Craig Shillington replied
Oh Peter … .you have to get out there at some stage … it’s a bit out of the way I know … but worth it :) :)
Craig Shadbolt
My parents have got a great photo pf this. Interesting that you were let down. I’ve always thought about visiting but you have put me off a bit now. Anything else in the surrounds worth looking at?!
Craig Shillington replied
If you are a big photographer YES!! Lots or rural stuff on the way … plus if you go thru Bruce Rock and stop … wow there are some nice photo opportunities there!!
pedroski
How long does it take to get there from Perth? Could you do it in a day trip?
Craig Shillington replied
From Perth Peter …. a god 4 hr drive. Just go East till Doodlikine then turn off towards Bruce Rock after the pub and follow the signs :) :) Yeah … start early and you’d do it in a day :) :) VBS

I had a dream about a rock like this once and I thought I was in another universe…........it wasn’t this big however you could sit in front of it and it gave your life some sort of balance…......I thought it had powers like crystals do…..........you just took me back there, thanks for sharing Craig

This is an amazing rock formation. Great photo!
lareejc
totally amazing rock formation! I wonder what formed it that way; is it lava?
Craig Shillington replied
It was actually underground water I think Laree. There was a layer of softer rock and then there was like a crack which ground water seeped thru and caused this sort of erosion. At least that is what I remember from reading while I was there. It’s pretty amazing :)
Cheyenne
This is so cool. :)
Craig Shillington replied
giggle I was actually a little disappointed when I was there … it wasn’t as big as I had imagined ;) Oops It IS pretty cool though :)
