It sure was Max!! I was driving along a quiet country road and thought there was a huge branch up ahead. It was this guy standing bolt upright!! He was huge … probably about a Metre long (3 foot) from tip to tail. He was a good boy and let me get lots of photos off though :) :)

A totally awesome lizard… how exact do you want the name? I’d call it a goanna!! But sand monitor may be a bit more accurate.
