Siesta
This is my other Cat Basil. :) Basil is about 18 years old now and had all his teeth removed when he was about 10. I guess with all the fuss over Jordy for the last 6 months or so, a lot of people wouldn’t realize that I have Basil and my little dog Fudge as well. Basil is a much more quiet Kitty who would prefer to spend all his time inside and sleeps at my feet on the end of the bed every single night. I guess at his Golden age … he isn’t going to go out on the town every night ;)

Awwwww Thanks Laree :) We ARE special aren’t we :) Jordy is doing okay. :) he has a few problems with his remaining eye that I need to get checked with the vet as soon as I can afford it, but he seems to be doing well apart from that :) VBS

VBS Hello Angela :) Basil pretty well has his tongue out 24/7. The reason he had his teeth removed was because he suffers from anxiety/depression and is constantly cleaning himself … and the build up of fur between his teeth rotted them. I think his tongue being out all the time has something to do with having no teeth, but it’s a bit cute too. On really hot days he pants like a dog and dribbles everywhere ;)

{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} Thanks so much Laree!! I worry that by not getting him to the vet soon I might be making matters worse … but I can only do that when I can afford it, so things will be as they are meant to be I guess.

tis so cute though – i have a thing about cat tongues! our little boy pezzy has started doing this thing when he is sleepy where his mouth falls open – but completely disturbing when he stares at you mouth agape!
my old boy (who passed away a couple of years ago at 18) essentially developed kitty alzheimers, starting pulling out clumps of fur at the base of his spine and used to get lost in the house all the time – problem was he was deaf and you had to go find him to reassure him instead of calling out – apparently cats in particular develop a lot of the “senior” disease states that humans do eg dementia/alzheimers – its very sad but at least they are still very loved

;) I know about the stares with mouth wide open ;) And I fear Basil is suffering from Alzheimers as well. I can pour milk in front of him and he forgets he likes it. Or will just wonder the house and stop and stare at the wall (like he is trying to remember what he was going to do etc) He too, is pulling fur from his belly and has huge bald patches … but he also gets hug fur balls and maybe he is just pulling those out. He is still gorgeous!!! And I love him so much :)

There was a long time where he looked his age DD!! He even came a whisker away from death in a big way. But he’s a strong little man and I am truly blessed :)

Splendid Gentleman indeed. With age comes wisdom – and he does look wise (or maybe just trying to think of a thought?)......... My own special boy lived to 21!!!!! He was much travelled, and flew from one end of New Zealand to the other when I relocated. Spent the most of his retirement years with my parents eating steak on demand!!!!!
