Back to the Future
Had my first go at long exposures using car lights last night. Not a great photo, but turned out pretty cool I think :) :)
Taken in North Kellerberrin, looking South towards the Hill and the Glow from the Oval Lights.

Whoah! I love this. It’s really surreal. The spot of light up near the centre of the image against the trees just adds that extra touch of weirdness…......................
Craig Shillington
LOL The ufo I was trying to catch you mean Whirli? ;) ;) I actually HATED the fact that I got lens flare to begin with, but the more I look at this, the more I learn to like it ;) I wished RB would allow us to view these larger because this really does look awesome full screen. I’d put a link to a much larger version, but the links seem to screw up!! If you go here and click the On Black link in the description of the photo, you should be able to see this a lot better :) VBS

aAGhhooOOOoooWoWziE!! How GOOD is that? Bet u felt super proud of that when you snapped it.. I would have been. Dang i would have even stopped a passing motorist and showed em this picture Hehe.. i would have felt like that
webgrrl
i suppose u used a tripod? I dunno why it is with me and tripods.. i got one, but i dont like using it..
Craig Shillington
LMAO!!!! Ya dag WG ;) YES!! I was very proud for my first attempt :) :) I had to use a tripod … it was a 60 sec exposure! ;) :P Dunno about you, but no way could I hold still for that long ;) :P I used to be the same when I had my Kodak Easyshare (who needs a tripod!!) LOL. But now I am finding I am getting richer sunset colours after it appears to the naked eye all the colour has left the sky!! To get those I need to do 2 sec exposures etc. So I need a tripod. And I LOVE my tripod … it is my friend ;) VBS
kookylane

HOW DID I MISS THIS ONE ? GREAT SHOT !
Tamarama72
this is great ! did you have to wait a long time for a car to come past, great idea hadn’t thought of doin this kind of shot on a quiet road ! might have to give it a go !
Craig Shillington
Hehehe Thanks Tamarama. Well, I was waiting for the last photo I took, to process on the camera, so I actually thought I was going to miss it (I heard him coming!!) But I just got it in time (thus you can see the start if the taillights in the right bottom of the photo ;) Find somewhere with a bend and with trees that cover the road :) Adds an awesome effect eh :) :) VBS I would have liked this to have had a bit of a lower perspective too, so I’ll have a play with that as well :)
Craig Shillington
Oh PS ;) LOL I was thinking tooooooooo … if ya can’t get somewhere secluded with at least a few cars …. you can always delay the photo and jump in your own car and do the drive by ;)
Melody

VBS Thanks Juilee. I just put an add in the local paper here, so I need to go through and tag all my Kellerberrin shots now and make a set for locals, in case they want to buy local photography :)
Ellen Amanda S...
I like it… but i think the light in the picture would be better balanced if you shopped out that pesky lens flare. very nice though love the colours
Leigh Ann Pobiak
The colors in this picture are gorgeous! Don’t you just love how lights look with long exposures? :) great job
minoanphotography

loua
great shoot mate love the light in the back.
Wildwings
This is an unusual capture. I especially like the play of light against the rich, warm dark, reddish bowns. Love the clarity of details too. Tis is an instant favorite for me.
Craig Shillington replied
Awwww Thanks you WildWings :) The glow was from fires that were burning in the paddock to the left of shot ;) :)
Christian Hartung
