Lullaby

Lullaby

.

On candystripe legs the spiderman comes
Softly through the shadow of the evening sun
Stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
Looking for the victim shivering in bed
Searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
Suddenly!
A movement in the corner of the room!
And there is nothing I can do
When I realise with fright
That the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

Quietly he laughs and shaking his head
Creeps closer now
Closer to the foot of the bed
And softer than shadow and quicker than flies
His arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
“Be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
Don’t struggle like that or I will only love you more
For it’s much too late to get away or turn on the light
The spiderman is having you for dinner tonight”

And I feel like I’m being eaten
By a thousand million shivering furry holes
And I know that in the morning I will wake up
In the shivering cold

And the spiderman is always hungry…

Mate, nice work. Great photo and the poem just tops it off. Awsome. How did you get so close? He’s one of those jumping spiders hey? They are very sketchy so well done there.
    Again nice work Craig.

LMAO Christian …. trust me …. if I had known it was one of those spiders when I was taking the shot …. I wouldn’t have got this close ;) He is actually sitting on the bamboo part of a wind chime hanging in a tree in my yard, so this photo is rotated -90 degrees to make it look like he is sitting flat. When I bought my camera, they sold me some macro filters to go on my macro lens … 1x, 2x and 4x. I took this with the 4x filter on my macro lens. I think it takes awesome macros, this spider was tiny!! :) Oh, and the poem is a song by The Cure. You can watch the video of the song by clicking the link above the lyrics :)

You’re so funny!! RB’s ‘large’ is pretty good. Am looking forward to the other spiders… I don’t mind them when I know they’re not real (as in not going to jump or run and attack, and are only on the tv/computer). Also don’t mind them if they’re outside. The spiders here know if they come inside they’re in trouble, so most stay outside (clever little things!).

    What is LMAO and VBS?

Thanks for the RSS feed info too!!

I gotta stop drinking in the middle of the day eh Georgie. :) Hic. ;) I am sorta the same with spiders … although with a camera between me and them I get a little bit gamer .. .I think something else takes over!! LMAO is Laugh My Arse Off ;) And VBS is Very Big Smile. :) I tell ya, I can’t wait for RSS Pages here, this is getting kinda overwhelming now ;( Or even if they just set up two pages in our accounts …. one for comments on our JE and Photos etc ….. and another for comments on places we have commented on. Would be a lot better eh :)

Just remembering where the comments I have made are… that’s hard! Well, I will keep on chatting!!! I reckon the camera gives you courage too… its as if the brain thinks, if I hide behind this little box the spider won’t see me and I’ll be safe!! Till it moves in your direction, of course. LMAO is so much better than LOL!!! VBS… bit obvious now!!!

I actually do THINK that if I have the camera in front of me, the spider will go for that (just imagine the spider jumping … and my reaction being to toss the camera and RUN!!!!!!) LOL No … don’t imagine that ;) I am faving everything I comment on at the moment :( Sorta not a great indication as to what I like … but for 99% of what I comment on, I would fav it anyway, or else why would I comment ;) Unless I am just being cheeky (who, Moi?) LOL

Yeah, Craig, it seems to be the same spider! :) Well, the same kind of spider, unless yours came to Italy on holiday :D
Thanks a lot for your kind comment and the big honour of adding my photo to your favourites!
