He was Peter … in reality he was a pretty sick little boy. I actually posed him there. I let him go into the grass afterwards but have no idea if he would have made it or not.

Thanks Starr. Yeah …. nature can seem cruel at times … but it’s always for the best. Snakes …. there were a lot of snakes around and we found the abandoned nest these fellas had. Maybe the Mum got eaten and they just started starving.

That is most likely the case.. However, cats love to play and the snakes better beware! I had many snakes in my yard this past year. They say what goes around comes around. I had some pretty playful stray cats in my yard too. I don`t have the snakes anymore. They took care of them for me. I`m wasn`t fearful of the snakes. They were mostly all of the garden variety. It`s just one big rat race out there now! Cornfields, bird feed, farm animals too. They all bring the critters around.

Starr, trust me I know all about Cat’s loving to play with snakes. I came home for lunch one day and saw Jordy playing with something out in the backyard, when I went to see what it was it turned out to be a Dugite. :( Scary stuff!!!

Jeff and Awoni :) This is the Australian Hopping Field Mouse :) They are tiny (about the size of those smaller lighters … or say nearly the size of a reg. box of matches) and instead of scurrying like a typical mouse, they hop like a Kangaroo :) :)

Bee …. I think she was sick. I just picked her up and put her on the end of the stick and she just stayed there. Not normal for a wild animal. :( I hope she survived.

Oh poor sweety.. Sick ?? no.. not normal indeed if she did not go.. But maybe she was little frightened only :) who knows.

So much cuter than rodents… and this one’s only a baby. These guys usually have so much energy that you’d never get them to sit still. Even though he/she looks so tired and sad, it’s an incredible photo!!!
