Surely now people, after having seen/heard the debacle of the climate talks at Copenhagen, you will realise that powerful world leaders are not working in the interests of long term survival of this planet we all share.
Monbiot writes more eloquently than I possibly could. Please take time to read what he has to say and then think about it…….and think about your own position…..do you have one?

What I can NEVER understand is the ‘Any ’agreement’ will cost jobs and NOT be in Australia’s (or insert country of choice) best interests’…which is bandied about by pollies of all persuasions.
Excuse me, but if the planet is FUBAR, then NO-ONE will have a job, a home, or anything else for that matter, so as for the ’country’s best interests’…..Give me a break.
About time pollies stop worrying about votes and concerned themselves with the ISSUE.

Thank you for your comment O xh

The selfishness of some will see the destruction of much. How often have we seen this in human history?
crackedpot:
It is the common path of history. Yet not since Atlantis has this dire situation arisen. It seems that the lesson has not been learned….

Forget the pollies, we all have to get it going from the grass-roots (literally) up. If you are serious about saving the planet, check into Permaculture and start planting fruit trees and home gardens and buy a bicycle, etc.
crackedpot:
I agree Lowell, that is is time to forget the pollies and take personal action. I already live as lightly as I able – but I believe that a full and complete revolution is required – people believing in their personal power and responsibility and acting with consideration to everything. Be radical – live!

WE MIGHT ALL BE FORCED TO GO BACK TO GRASS-ROOTS BY GAIA!! AT LEAST THOSE OF US WHO SURVIVE!! COPENHAGEN IS THE FARCE I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE!! X
crackedpot:
That’s right Ray. I am really trying to reach people who have been deluded by the Establishment, not so much those who are already aware, although I certainly appreciate comments:-))

Like many others in this growing movement of disenchantment towards our so called “leaders” I try to leave as small a footprint as possible upon this wonderful planet that we all call home. I teach those who will listen in the ways of permaculture and the benifits of growing their own fruit and vegetables even, if it involves growing in pots. I write on the net…I try…..Now all we need is for more people to take the situation into their own hands. A while back there was a movie called Newsfront in which, Peter Finch urged everyone to stick their head out of the window and yell “I have had enough and I’m not going to take it any more”…I urge you to do the same…write to your local polies and tell them just what you think of the fiasco in Copenhagen.
Sorry CP…to have got a little carried away here but, this is one thing that I have been harping on since the 60’s and, if just one person reads this and acts….I will be happy .. ;-)
crackedpot:
Please don’t apologise Les, I appreciate your input also. Yes, we can all lead by example – for those who have ‘eyes’ to see it must be a help.

You inspired me to create this group on Facebook, check it out : I Will Plant a Tree This Year
crackedpot:
Thanks Lowell, I did check it out, well done. Inspiring others by our thoughts and deeds is surely the most fulfilling activity there can be:-)) I’m sure your action will have a spin-on effect also and as This song says – From little things big things grow…….
Virginia McGowan
sort of on subject.. but.. did you know? most people prefer concrete ‘gardens’ to green things? Saves mess, well of course you know ….can’t do the soapbox thing ,[here] brain connected to the keyboard is off in the clouds…

Oh yes put up a parking lot….
