Silvereye ( Zosterops lateralis ) 2 by

Captured in the early hours of the morning raiding whats left of the fig tree outside my home, the silvereye belongs to a group of birds known as the white-eyes and is easily recognised by its olive green feathers and white ring round the eye.

Unlike the Eastern States variety of Silver Eye in Australia the Western variety have a uniform Olive Yellow across the body while the Tasmanian and Other Eastern States have the Olive green Head but Grey Plumage across the back.
