Pier - Dusk Till Dawn
Eastbourne Pier at low tide
Sussex, England

D300, 12-24
4-images taken at dusk, HDR processed through Photomatix Pro, converted to b&w with infared filter.
.
Hey, look, OK, so I kinda forced the “Dusk Till Dawn” title, just so I could spice it up with this video of the gorgeous Salma Hayek’s erotic dance from from the film of the same name. Oh yeah, and for the girls, theres a little bit of George Clooney in the video too and a very big anemic looking snake, if that’s more your bag :) The song is After Dark by Tito and Tarantula.

Hey Pete….This is wonderful in BW…the coloured version really appeals to my senses also… glad to see you’re adding more work to your folio…. take care.
Pete Costick replied
Hey Maria, I’m liking very much that you’re popping in here so regularly, and with such lovely comments too. I was torn whether to use the colour version here, but I do love my b&w for this type of image. Yes, did you notice my lean spell, hopefully I’ll be busier on here again and look forward to more of your visits :) Thanks you :)
Mark Chapman
Actually Pete, I like the colour version best-I think the reflections look better.
And you can keep George Clooney (and that damn snake!)
Pete Costick replied
Chappers, you had to go and like the colour, awkward sod that you are. Yeah, that is one nasty creature in the video, right, and the snakes pretty unpleasant too ‘eh :) Cheers mate.

Ok, first of all….....I LOVE this image so I’m not sure why you are apologising for it being boring….it is anything but that! The processing is amazing….love the b&w and the beautiful reflections which balance the composition out perfectly! Now about that video you added…..Goerge Clooney is SO hot in it isn’t he hehehe ;)
Pete Costick replied
Hey, Shell, I love that you love this, the comp especially :) And am really happy that you like the b&w, ‘cause having HDR processed it and got some pretty looking colour shades, it maybe seemed a shame to convert it to b&w but, for me, and I think you too, b&w rules, OK :)
Yeah, all that stuff about it being boring, was just an excuse to get Salma’s dance onto the page :P Sorry there was was only a few glimpses of George though :P Thanks for another really lovely comment, please don’t stop :)

I think I prefer the colour version too…..more life in it and shows off the reflections better….that video….wow!! but way toooo distracting!! LOL
Pete Costick replied
Hello Wendi, it’s really lovely to hear from you :) You know what, the more i look at this, this more I gotta agree with you, the colour is better isn’t it :) Yeah that video, no real connection at all, just an excuse to see Salma again :P Thanks you :)
Wendi Donaldson
Such a guy thing….. the video!!!! LOL. OH yeah, glad you agree…...the colour one is the ‘IT’ shot!
Pete Costick replied
OK, OK, I admit it, I was wrong (not for the first time and certainly won’t be the last :P ), the colour version wins, hands down, no contest :)
ChelseaBlue
Certainly the colour version for me, great reflections and a relatively unusual shot of our pier, great stuff Pete
Not sure about the video though, my view is that it distracts people from your photographic talent, which would be a shame
Pete Costick replied 25 days ago
Yep, I guess the colour one does have something over the b&w in this case. Haha…you think the music detracts, I quite enjoy listening while looking at pics, commenting and replying, and I guess you dont have to click play if you dont like the idea. I ‘ve actually discovered a few new musical artists along the way by sharing links with fellow redbubblers and enjoy poetry that accompanies images also. I like to encompass as many art forms as possible, rather than just a pic taken, as is, straight from the camera every time.
