Blue Wren Busselton Western Australia by

Splendid fairy wren – malurus splendens
Breeding Male – mostly dark blue , narrow black band on upper breast extending to black collar on neck .
Non breeding male – wings partly and tail wholly dull blue; rest of upper parts greyish brown ; under parts whitish.
Female – tail dull blue ; rest of body greyish brown with whitish under parts

    thanks everyone for your beautiful comments. The wonderful thing about this image is that I was hanging out the washing as I do with my camera hanging round my neck and this little beauty popped down not far away so I snapped off a few shots and didnt have to do any fixing of the photo what you see is what he looked like his details really shone for me and his colour was stunning. I hope he stays round for mating season would love to get some shots of him with a female. thanks again for the plug dont get to do much these days with two active small children and its nice to get reckonised when I do manage to get a few minutes to upload.
