I nearly cried when i saw the giant aqueduct out the front of this amazing Spanish city. It was not a response i ever imagined having. All of a sudden I could feel all the people who had ever walked around its base, passed through it into the town beyond, stood in awe and wonder, or simply carried on around it, as if it were just another stone building of their city.
There are thousands of years of history in Australia, most of it understood by far too few. But i had never experienced anything like this – culture layered upon culture, combined, and now inseparable.
And still the people carry on, walk about, and go on with their lives.
Beautiful.
