My pic won a Tex Press Assoc. contest!
Hello to all here on rb. I haven’t been on in over a week so I have missed you dearly and plan to spend the week-end catching up. My radiation treatments are going really well and I am nearly finished – just 7 more to go. It will be so wonderful not to have to travel 150 miles every single day – can’t wait! I wanted you to know that one of my photos, “Well Heeled” has won a contest through the Texas Press Association of which our 3 little newspapers are members of. The photo will appear as the cover of the 2009 TPA Directory so I am really thrilled. I have entered different photos every year but this is the first time I have won. The competition is open to photographers from newspapers all across the state of Texas so I feel very honored indeed.

Courier, this is SO AWESOME!! Congratulations!! :D About the photo, yes, but also about your health.
Which newspapers did you enter through? I used to edit one of the Star Group papers in Johnson County, and won a TPA award one year for a feature. Didn’t do photos then, though. My uncle, however, won one last year for his photo of our local firefighters in action.
Anyway, congratulations again, and I’m glad to hear you’re doing well!

Hey, Julie – we own 3 little papers in Texas. The Munday Courier in Munday, The Twin Cities News in Haskell County, and The Stonewall County Courier in Aspermont. Isn’t it a small world? We met several folks from the Star Group at a meeting in Fort Davis, Texas several years ago.
