Camera Coupiere is the photography of Tessa-Marie (Tess) Barnes.

I am primarily a nature photographer and have been a photographic recorder for the Woodland Trust’s phenology study since 2002. I capture the same views of trees and shrubs on a photography walk on the first of every month and this information helps them compare the impact of climate changes year on year and in different areas where these photos are taken. The BBC’s Springwatch and Autumnwatch are linked to the same study as well as providing excellent TV!

Although I am most passionate about nature images I have also been known to take portraits as well as product and service images for my web design and development business Crataegus Design. I have even been commissioned for a ‘shoot’ of Bowen Technique therapy. The resulting images are currently being used in training materials teaching Bowen Technique Therapists in the UK.

Why ‘Camera Coupiere’? Tess Barnes is not only my name but also the name of a respected artist in the south of England. ‘Google’ Tess Barnes and most of the first page will be related to her exceptional portrait paintings. But why Coupiere? My husband’s name is Coopey and his relations from the 1400s brought the name of Coupiere from the Alsace region. It’s not a bad alliteration either :)
