WINGED THOUGHTS
winged feet
to glide over unsteady ground,
strength of heart and mind
to embrace the darkness
and carry it into the light,
wisdom
to see the light
in the shadows of self doubt;
conviction
of self belief
without the arrogance of egotistical spirit;
happiness
within one’s limitations
without fear of stretching into infinity;
love
with the purest of intention
without the expectations of reward;
gracefulness of being
without the sacrifice of identity…
… these are my hands,
once fists clenched
in self contained survival
now open palms of gentle living,
the final resolution of my human hope
where one becomes one’s dream.
From one palm to another,
give unconditionally
receive graciously.
