Do you believe in a god,
in a soul,
in a life after death?
My short answer is NO,
my long answer is YES.
One letter difference
between the two to find balance,
and for myself
that letter chosen would be I.
The I sees all,
sits at the fulcrum
and watches with curiosity
the seesaw banter
of chattering monk(ie)s
for the loftier outlook.
The long answer
gives intangible hope,
the short answer
binds us to dust,
the I just let’s me be,
swinging between the two.
Yes I know,
it drives me batty too!
