SOMETIMES
Sometimes
my life is not my own.
Sometimes
I need to shelve my needs,
slot them between the other books
of dreams and wishes
in an encyclopaedia of self,
to refer to sometimes.
Sometimes
everybody else’s sometimes
happens at once
and I forget
what time belongs to who.
Sometimes
I get grumpy at the sometimes,
but most times
I don’t mind the sometimes.
So,
anytime you’re having a sometimes moment
and you need some time,
just give me a call sometime
and we’ll share some time
together.
but not tomorrow,
sometime tomorrow
I’ll be reading the encyclopaedia of self,
… if I can find it
amongst all the other books of dreams.
