CARVED TABLE OF DREAMS
a table
full of good cheer,
friends
with candlelight
in flickering eyes
and poetry
skipping on moist lips,
ruby red
lipstick
smeared with smiles,
and laughter
dancing in the air
in moonlit kisses,
wine
rippling with music
in glowing ambience
and moments
floating in passing waves
held
in snapshot frames,
a table
full of memory buds
to savour
again
and again
in the solitude
of one’s own feast,
so sit yourselves down
at this carved table
of dreams
and share in the fruits
laden in between
and with full mouths
we’ll tell our tales
of distant time
and friends dear
and make it all our own,
for now
is all we got
to start anew
and harvest
what we’ve sown.
