THE KNOWING OF LOVE. (Part 5/7)
If we learn to be gentle with ourselves then we can be gentle with others.
DAY 5: The knowing of self love
My love for you
must stand apart
and look inward
in quiet contemplation
for a sacred self.
It is an arduous journey
that leads me
to a wilderness of my soul,
where my demons and angels
sit and wait for my return.
Here
my love for you
must wait,
for I must stand alone
and face this haunting landscape
of my own doing……
a maze of regrets,
lost loves and dreams,
fear of living,
arrogance of pride
all swirled in a cloud of grey,
swimming together
with my great joys.
I see
my love for you
in the murky mix,
disappearing beneath
the thick, stagnant muck,
resurfacing again,
spluttering and choking
on the bitter scum;
but I know that I cannot stop
for fear of drowning myself,
and yet you still acknowledge me
from afar.
“Don’t panic, don’t panic”
I hear myself cry out.
With fear scratching
from within
I carry myself
through this swamp
to finally touch solid ground,
and into its rocky surface
I plant a cracked seed
from my weary heart.
My tears
released from my tightened grip
fall upon the thirsty seed
and it sprouts forth
a golden leaf
pushing
through the hardened crust
that I crafted with my own thoughts.
The golden leaf encases me
in its light
and carries me above
the swirling waters of self doubt
and returns me
to myself,
who I accept with open arms.
My love for you
is myself.

This awareness of the landscape that was in need of weeding and renewal….then the germination from within to then become an outward expression of inner love….Amazing to me how you spoken of a process that will bring some to their knees in and maybe in crawl upon the ground of regret to then find something deeper within to release the seed of renewal…..it is so like our self made Phoenix rising …
cosimopiro replied
a nice way to put it. Thank you again for your wonderful words. xo
ArcadiaTempest
Excuse the typos…..hope you will understand….X

LOL ….Oh good me thinks you really could be typo-lingual …the best kinda lingual there be ;>D
cosimopiro replied
Keep talking dirty and we’ll get on fine lol Ahh yes fom the heights of great philosophical persuits to the gutters of our basic selves we soar and plummet like birds that majestically soar in the sky then dive to snatch the life from an unsuspecting worm. Such is life…we are gods and goddesses trapped in a human form. Many thanks.
Christie Moses
This one is amazing Cos. It is one we all need to read. Self love is so very important, because before we can truly deeply love another, first we must love ourselves. Beautiful writing again. xoxo
cosimopiro replied
I so believe this. We all project outwardly who we are inwardly, even if we wear a mask, and eventually show our true inner being. If we have no love or respect for ourselves then how can that translate to others? Thanks Christie. You’re a darling!!
Andrew Bailey
Oh boy, what a trip! Whatever you’re on, please send me some. A fantastic piece of writing, Cos. I now have a very keen anticipation of day 8. Well done, my friend. Superb.
cosimopiro replied
Thanks Andrew mate. I think I’ve taken them all…sorry mate…had to dig deep for this one. As for day eight….there is none….goes to day seven only and I hope it doesn’t disappoint. But then, we all have our favourite days. Again I appreciate you reading and commenting.

To look into the pool of self and see ones true reflection is to my mind one of the most liberating things a person can do. I’ve had glimpse of the whole self it was so overwhelming.
You write with such a fall in love with life heart,
It speaks to me.
Beautiful. xx
cosimopiro replied
and I love speaking to you. Seeing one’s reflection can be liberating or frightening to some…for me accepting myself for all my goodness and all my shortcomings allows me to take the next step in my journey without dragging dead weight about. Thank you Lisa, as always am pleased to see you. xo
Erika .

so much wisdom culminating in this piece with a radical awakening to self love which in actuality is love for all.. really beautiful series that brings you along the journey that transforms the soul or consciousness into love.
cosimopiro replied

This one is so very special and so very wise. This is the journey we all must undertake – to love ourselves, not in a selfish way, but in a way that acknowledges that we too have a share in that divinity, that we are sacred, and to be as accepting and loving toward ourselves as we are of others. If we get it backwards, we can do so much harm. And we have to be reconciled to that shadow side, for to be able to see the light we must have known the darkness first. Extraordinary insight and a moving tenderness – gorgeous piece of writing.
cosimopiro replied
Again I thank you for a most wise and knowledgeable insight. I agree with you on so many points. I am so pleased that you have commented and look forward to more meetings such as this. Good cheers to you Lianne.

Realisation is the key to peace with Self,
acceptance; in fully realising love for self
so the acceptance comes of others, humanitarian love becomes of
one’s nature, and love in our close relationships becomes joyous.
A great piece to read Cos
