THE KNOWING OF LOVE. (Part 4/7)

What is humanity? Is it a particular code of ethics and morals we must abide by? Is it a particular religious belief that is the saviour of us? Is it simply a biological machine with a self survival mechanism? Are we not just a swirl of emotions trying to find a common ground to play on?.....and in the end do we not all belong to the same tribe asking the same questions? I love my tribe….one tribe, one humanity.

DAY FOUR: The knowing of humanity.

My love for you
touches the memories
of Time,
where your spirits
dance still
and tales of struggles
and lovers
incite my heart and mind.
It is the battleground
of sin and virtue
where armours clash
and swords and shields
raised to the sun
in the name of love and god,
reflect no such sentiments
through the blood and mud
and Death walks away
the only victor.
It is the bed
of passions and lustful encounters,
of forbidden rendezvous
concealed in intrigue
and conspiratorial agendas,
and of true lovers
whispering naked secrets
to each other
unfolding sweet scented petals
in the moonlight of Eden.
This is where legends are born
and tragedies befall,
where heroes
stand their ground
and men and women
toil
while children play.
My love for you
is a tribe
of brothers and sisters
who are my support,
my strength
and together we stand
fearless
with our shield of love
to protect us.

I feel it is….how can so much suffering be caused in the name of love. Thanks for your time and comment….and for picking this line out….it has always been a mystery to me why we do it! Muchly appreciate it. xx

Cosimo this is wonderful! I do believe that perhaps humanity is one of the ‘prisms’ of universal intent…one of the dividing points stationed along the path of creation that begins in the center as a singularty and unfolds outward with creation, but I’m also begining to belive that we are the only such prism that is capable of being aware of both sides of itself...you know, the ‘in’ side and the ‘out’ side, creating much conflict amongst the individuals gravitating to either side due to some ‘splinter’ rooted in our consciousness long ago that acts as sort of a blinder keeping individuals from seeing the ‘whole’ ....and of course the next thing you know blades are clashing….I must find more time! when I do, I’ve got to read the others!

  • cosimopiro replied

Thank you for a most insightful response. You must read the following installments….be interested in your thoughts. Much appreciate your time. Good cheers to you.

the sufis advise us to act towards others as though they are god, and to think of everything others do to us to us as though it were done by god. i like that idea very much . . .

  • cosimopiro replied

I like that too. This is indeed a lovely coincidence. I have touched on sufism, although not in great depth and what I have read interests me. This is a reminder for me to follow up. Thanks again for your visit. Greatly appreciate it. “Practice harmlessness”.....another little thought that crops up from time to time. I have no idea why I wrote that…. Anyway….thanks.

Tribal love of humanity….Oh for us to see we are just covered by different skins and have only different tools of the hunt and our pots for gathering all still seek the same nurture….Love and people unfortunately do not mix as well as it should for the selfishness of humanity sometimes over-rides feeling the belonging of the one tribe. Just my thoughts that your inspiring words in this eloquently verse brought to my mind….

  • cosimopiro replied

and they are words of truth. Humanity does have a dark side to it but it reflects our dark side. From my readings in RB there are more people becoming aware of this and are prepared to do the hard task of finding that peace with themselves, thus finding peace with others. I do believe however that the nature of our existence is to precisely do that hard task and transcend within…..which leaves all sorts of dynamics to unfold. Love your visits and comments…..always thought provoking. xo

In the name of love and god…we do perpetrate such horrors on one another in our blindness. Not recognizing that we are all connected to each other, equal to each other in the most essential way – and that is that in essence, in the very heart of who we are, we each house a spark of the Divine. It is such a tragedy that we do not all understand that. We are all one human tribe – I cannot cut off one hand thinking, “well, I don’t need that one – I’m righthanded, not left.” Such a thought provoking and incredibly profound piece. xox

  • cosimopiro replied

We do some senseless things on this planet, our home…..I do agree….horrible atrocities to each other…..that I can’t deny, but our capacity to love is a powerful and wonderous thing. All we need to do is connect to each other…...it sounds simple enough but then we are complex beings. Lianne, I am so delighted in your comments. Big hug.
