THE KNOWING OF LOVE. (Part 3/7)

When a child arrives into our lives the reason why we do things changes and our focus is shifted dramatically.

DAY 3: The knowing of selfless love.

Our love for you
is the purest of loves
for it asks for nothing
and gives of everything,
ever
replenished with joy.
It is the love
of nurturing and protecting.
Our love for you
is the seed
of our seasons,
all our stories and memories,
for you to carry
into mythology.
You are a tender,
new bud
puckering expectantly
to life’s sweet milk.
A kiss of a fresh rose,
delicate and pure perfection,
pristine soul,
untainted
by the ways of the world.
My love for you
holds you
with fallible arms,
gently
so as not to crush
and tightly
so as not to drop
this precious, little tear.

Thank you Del. I must say when I embarked on this journey on the knowing of love I had to relive, as best my memory served me, certain emotions that I have experienced and bring them back to light. The birth of my child, who is 18 now, by far has been the most illuminating, putting into perspective the fragilities of miracles. Thank you for the read…much appreciated.

Human love Erich….with all our philosophies and religions, politics and wars, our searhes for divinity and pious devotions, our academic and material pursuits, so as to give us some meaning ….human love is probably the most real. Thank you Erich.

Our fallibility is our humanity…...It is a part of where our love comes from…to deny it is to deny truth!....To accept it is to live in love in the honesty of each moment

  • cosimopiro replied

An incomparable moment – the first gaze upon that tiny face, the first curl of tiny fingers around your own. There is quite simply nothing closer to divinity on earth than that moment – it’s as if your whole being lights up with awe at the sight of your own new born child. What an incredibly tender, gentle and yet passionate poem of endless, unconditional love. So very beautiful.
