I love these little thoughtsthat dance in my head, they give me so much pleasurewith their fleeting little steps.Impish thoughts that teaseand tantalisewith the promise of a reward……if I’m quick enoughto capture them in flight.I love the way they sneak upand catch me by surpriseor beguile me with a glimpseof their untamed obscure desires.Whimsical thoughts that bewitchand charmand lead me through their maze……providing I’m silentas not to give them such a fright. Now, what of those thoughtsthat don’t get caught, where do they ever go?Do they shrivel up and diediscarded like a cocoon,or do they return with friendsto badger me some more……Oops! There goes another one“Haven’t I seen you here before?”And then I ponder some, about those throw away linesand whether I have the luxuryof tossing them aside.Such little pearlers as’you’ll never have trouble with pencilsunless you run out of lead’……‘Mmmmm, might let that slip by and try another one.’Is there a quotaon the amount of thoughts per day,or do they breed and mutiply, and float byto be harvested every day?Wherever do they come from, these cunning little cohorts? Is there a maker somewheretossing out his thoughts?I love these little thoughtsthat dance in my head……haven’t I been here before?

I’m sure the more you think, the more you think… without a limit…

Nice write Cos, I often get those sort of thoughts when I’m driving in traffic or having a shower or doing something else that stops me writing it down. When I do get the chance, I’ve often forgotten that “best line in the world” LOL

  • Know that well myself….guess most people who write experience that. Driving is the worse and I try to get all the red lights so I can jot down THE “best line in the world”. Cheers Matt.

they dance a circle-dance, don’t they? around and around – our thoughts are not our own, only hubris claims them. where they come from is a mystery too. sometimes i like their dance – but sometimes it makes me dizzy… a hypnotic and clever piece of writing!

  • Yes, the little imps can sometimes be a little persistent….but then they do eventually lead us to some amazing worlds. Thankyou for your read and wonderful comment. Good cheers to you.

Everyone has those little thoughts dancing around in their heads, sometimes good, sometimes bad. A wonderful read.

  • Thankyou Rhena. They are all there to teach us something about ourselves…..we just need to learn to listen, I feel. Cheers

Lovely words.. I especially like the ‘is there a quota paragraph and the last line, which reminds me of the saying.. ’it’s like deja vu all over again… ’
:) .. and the throw away lines and whether I have the luxury of tossing them aside… love that! :)

  • Again thanking you for your read and comment. Good cheers to you.
