Abraham Lincoln has the best view of a sunrise in Washington, D.C. as he sits at the western end of the National Mall directly opposite the United States Capitol to the east. The steps of the Lincoln Memorial is a popular place for people to gather to watch the sun rise from behind the Capitol. As I was watching the sun rise one morning, I turned around to catch the light of the rising sun slowly moving through the interior space of the Lincoln Memorial, and I was fascinated by the image of Abe as it was about to be engulfed by the orange light of the early morning sun.

Cora, as always my friend, this is a stunning shot! I was never up early enough during my 2 weeks in D.C. to realize the sunrise, much less capture it…. so I thank you so much for sharing this amazing image! Hope all is well ;o)
Thank you my friend!

A rather Symbolic image. Lincoln bought light to a troubled country but never saw it himself.
Brilliant!
Thank you Andrew!
