This is Tuty the Snowman, he now resides until he melts outside the front door of my apartment building. He is the creation of Lilly, one of my neighbors in the building, and is named after her boyfriend. We have just endured two snowstorms in less than a week in Washington, DC, breaking a hundred year-old record for snowfall in one season. All day I have been listening to car wheels spinning as motorists tried to move their stuck vehicles through the snow. In the top right corner of this photo is a cab with three young men trying to push it out of its hole, which took them nearly an hour to do. Meanwhile, Tuty just sat there smiling . . . but his day will come when the temperature rises above freezing.

Thank you to the group “Communities” for featuring this photograph.

Oh, poor Cora!! I know ya’ll have been really hit hard in DC. I have family in VA and they got sooo much snow as well. But, hey, when life gives you lemons, make lemonaid, as they say. Look at fabulous Tuty who would not have been able to visit without that snow, lol! :)Karen

Cora…You (as a resident of DC ) have all been in the news as I am sure you know. I love this shot and the way you caught all the excitement into one photo. I wonder how long the snowman will last. Not too long I hope…for your sake!

  • Liz, I always appreciate your comments, they are so well thought out.
