This is Tuty the Snowman, he now resides until he melts outside the front door of my apartment building. He is the creation of Lilly, one of my neighbors in the building, and is named after her boyfriend. We have just endured two snowstorms in less than a week in Washington, DC, breaking a hundred year-old record for snowfall in one season. All day I have been listening to car wheels spinning as motorists tried to move their stuck vehicles through the snow. In the top right corner of this photo is a cab with three young men trying to push it out of its hole, which took them nearly an hour to do. Meanwhile, Tuty just sat there smiling . . . but his day will come when the temperature rises above freezing.
