On the Edge

The cries heard from the room where she stayed.
Locked away only to be seen when needed, but never heard.
Cold dark room, with a bed nothing more.
Only webs and dust from the past.

A light by the window stired a desire, to go.
Somewhere out of the horror to feel the sunlight
instead of the old clothes she wore.
Abandon and left to fend alone,
strangers around cold and mannered,
nothing warm.

Giving orders left and right,
do what your told or no food tonight.
Clock string 12 work finally done,
lock in the room untill dawn comes.

Dreams of escape but no where to run, huddled in bed cold and alone.
Shadows creep across the walls. sleep hides the pains of all.
Screams come, the mornings calls, get up clean and do the walls.
Dinner tonight will be for ten,we are having company again..

The collaboration you did is just wonderful. i think this is the way Cinderella felt, all alone, sad, cold and alone until they needed her to work. Wonderful art too. Barefoot, old dress. Wonderful.

  • Thank you Ciana,it was a fun write…
I really liked the art it fit the story.
Like I said we did it at the same time and they ran into each other…
