If Only Tears Helped

I was working in Photoshop today with a shade of purple, at times I just move my hands to where they want. In this case I was drawn to this child who is so sad, so abused. I am still shaking and crying. The Abuse in this world has become so overwhelming I cannot stop the flow of it. This is not the first one I have been lead to do but the first published .
It is time all think about the future of our Children.

Done with a watcom pen and pad. Brushes used were soft brushes from 10 to 50

Extremely moving image – and a serious issue of injustice. Well done – no one person can stop it alone but perhaps your charge is to continually raise awareness. You’ve done that.

  • coppertrees replied

Thank you so much, finally added a title and music

No one deserves abuse. And no one should have to live as if that was the only way to live… It is sad indeed. Children should be allowed to have simple lives. It occurs to me that abusive people are like the lower of the predatory animals, jackals, hyenas, possums… The don’t have the ability to play with strong adults, only the weak and helpless. Shameful. Mercy and Grace are for God to give… as for me? Hang ‘em high!

  • coppertrees replied

On this I can agree, with you, only a higher power can forgive these animals.
Thank you for commenting, I was just thinking about you today wondering how you were and knowing you were busy. Smile nice to see ya.

Vickie, this is very poignant work. You have brought an issue to the forefront today with If Only Tears Helped I worked for many years with children who had suffered abuse and feel very strongly about this topic! Society feels very uncomfortable about these issues and it use to make me very angry! The helpless
child is utterly dependent on adults to provide for their needs. They need to be nurtured, protected and loved both emotionally and physically. The Little Girl that appeared in your work may be asking questions which need to be answered? Why am I trapped? Why did this happen to me? This Little Girl maybe grieving and is angry. The reason I feel that she appeared to you, is that she knew it was safe to cry, to be held and be treated with great tenderness. You are a nurturing woman who can offer her that tenderness in moments of heartbreaking sorrow and loneliness. I realise that this is a deeply transforming experience Vickie, but one that we sometimes experience when we least except it. Childhood experiences can stay with us forever and there are times when we need to acknowledge them and allow inner expression. The Little Girl has found the right person, the right place and the right time. You are truly a remarkable lady and I send you Lovingkindness today. I shall light a candle for the Little Girl and pray that her anguish and distress will finally allow her peace! Thinking of you!Sx

  • coppertrees replied

I have lit several candles, thank you so much for your comment, I hope I did not wake you. It is 2:40 AM here and I am still up. I am a night owl and see no reason to be like everyone else and be alseep when the energies are calmer and I can hear and feel more.
The day yesterday brought to many waves, Day time for me is so hard to do art to much rushing in.
Thank you so much for your LovingKindness wishes.
Safe Journeys today, Smiles and warm winds.
    Vickie B

I was led here after viewing Sophie’s tribute to this work coppertrees. Your piece is haunting, sad, yet a honorable tribute to the needless suffering of children at the hands of their abusers. I am grateful that more and more awareness, education and support is happening concerning abuse. If you get a moment and are so inclined, please read my writing “on memory” … the aftereffects of abuse continues until it is healed, with the company and witness of a compassionate witness. Be well and thank you, Sophie and everyone who stands up for children. Many blessings, Emily

  • coppertrees replied

Thank you for commenting, I did go read your words and found them to be wonderfully written.
The effects of abuse scar the earth, make the skys cry and make you and I always wonder is it safe.

Abuse takes many forms and is a master of disguise. Childhood is too short. Innocence too precious. Any person who abuses a child in any way should wear their abuse on the forehead forever.

  • coppertrees replied

I agree with you they should be branded as such for everyone to se instead of slimming around and hurting over and over.
