Top of the World

18’‘by 20’’ Ink and Black and White Watercolor painting

This is # 1 in a series of rocks and mountain cliffs.
Technique inspired by Qu Lei Lei,wrinkling or crinkling is used to provide texture. Crushed paper is used after balling it up and flattening it.
Creases are made and then gently run a brush over the high points. The majority of these disappear when mounted. Ink Blotting is also done with this method.
