Bamboo in Water #5

Bamboo in Water #5

Technique inspired by Qu Lei Lei,wrinkling or crinkling is used to provide texture. Crushed paper is used after balling it up and flattening it.
Creases are made and then gently run a brush over the high points. The majority of these disappear when mounted. Ink Blotting is also done with this method.

I have done this and then added watercolor to it.

Origional is not for sale

The wrinkling effect really works! You always have so much texture in your pieces, but this gives it a whole new dimension! Excellent work! Love it in the black border too

Wow Vickie…this is beautiful….the blue grey wash in the background really gives a feeling of depth to the work….and I love the little touches of ochre….it especially looks great matted in black….I grew up with bamboo all around me, and here you really have the authentic feel of a bamboo grove…..
