Whatever it is, its a brilliant image!
It’s beautiful. I’ve emailed it to a botanist friend of mine to see if she has any ideas.
It looks like a mass of florets of a composite flower with the stigmas withering after pollination, if that’s what you meant. I don’t know the exact plant, if that’s what you’re after though.
Nope don’t have a clue!!;p But it is very beautiful and you have captured it perfectly!
Hi Kent. Both my friend and my sister (totally into horticulture) believe your flower is some type of ‘trigger’ plant i.e. like a carnivorous plant – it looks sticky and also has the node-like aspects. But without seeing the whole plant it is very hard to tell. Hope this helps somehow. Do you have a shot of the whole flower or plant? In any case it’s a great photo. ;o)
Anne, thanks for the help. I do not have another shot of the whole flower, wish I did. Thanks again
Great macro fantastic shot
Very cool, I love macro shots and wish I had a macro lens of my own.
Great pic i don’t know what it is but i think it’s a carnivore plant either.Anyway it’s fantastic
