Hydrangea’s were my Dad’s favorite bushes. He was always playing with the soil and changing their color… I thought he was a Magician! :))

A beautiful capture of this gorgeous flower! They are so vulnerable to the sun.

Very nice image, pretty color.
Hi Rosalie… Thanks very much. I love the color… gorgeous flower… :)))

Our hydrangeas are frazzled – they certainly don’t like much direct sun. I’ll just enjoy seeing yours for now…
Ha well you saw the next photo of the fizzled bush i imagine… no they do NOT like direct sun… but are fabulous in the shade… :))

This does look like one of those deeper blue/purple ones that do seem to fare a little better though ~
My DAD always played with the color by adding something to the soil… I think he said MUIR acid…. he has passed now so I can’t ask him… but I think that was it… As a kid I was always amazed how he could do that!!! :))))

I think my husband adds “Hollytone” to add some acid to the soil – he likes them deep blue. But there are lots of different varieties – and definitely some are more resilient to the sun and heat.
Very true. I am sure things are much different than when Dad was adding that stuff back in the 50s… lol :))
