I have just finished my “Tree” and I have really enjoyed painting this. I didn’t want to call it “Four Seasons” because that has become such a cliche, even pizzas have this name. However, Vivaldi’s set of 4 violin concertos (or is it concerti????) has always moved me and I was more than privileged to watch Nigel Kennedy perform it live in a candlelit Exeter Cathedral when he was still a young punk protege of Yehudi Menuhin. It was one of the really wonderful and unforgettable experiences which has made my life so special :-)
I have played with the idea of painting a tree showing all four seasons for a long time, this is the first time that it seemed to come together the way I wanted it to.
