Calves in the meadow
Acrylics on canvas
I was out for a walk in my neighbourhood recently on one of those unique sunny warm days here in West Clare in Ireland. The farm animals were mostly lying down in the fields which I passed. I came to a field in which there were only calves and I stopped for a look. They looked back at me. The picture remained with me so I got out my paints and brushes and this is the end result!

Love it…the daisy’s and the cows remind me of home…...I love the sight of cows in a field…..so peaceful. (the only thing I would have done is left the tags out of their ears…...but that’s only me…..I always think they hurt :o) Wonderful detail here and the colours are perfect.

Thanks Salerie. Yes – I did think twice and three times before I painted the tags – so I opted to put them in to place the scene in the modern day.

Connie… this is so pretty!!! I can hear their little voices (no, not in my head… LOL)... from just outside my window where they are grazing!! Bautiful! Who can live in a city when all the beauty of colour and sound is in the countryside?
Connie Danaher replied
Thank you so much Avril. Your comments always mean a lot to me.
