A slightly more ‘matter-of-fact’ depiction of the Ballroom at St John’s lunatic asylum…

It is doubtful whether most of the occupants ever set foot on it’s parquet dance floor, or enjoyed cinematic & theatrical presentations here.

I find it difficult to reconcile the relative grandiosity and opulence of this space with the harsh and unforgiving high security wards that dominate this ‘hospital’.
