It’s been another busy week on the bubble. From meet ups in Arizona to radio interviews in Manchester – here’s just some of the action that caught our eye:

Works from talented new bubblers
Aussie bubbler Rosemaree and her husband Malcom met up with Susan Bergstrom in the States and spent time exploring the Navada/Arizona desert. Susan shared some shots from their Aussie Invasion. Elsewhere in the US, Matthew Dawkins spent a crazy 48 hours with fellow bubbler MommaKluyt, taking in road trips, phallic monuments, alien visitors and a giant tortoise. And a bunch of bubblers discussed the lengths they’d gone to in order to meet up.

Tcat757 got some great advice on selective colouring. Jen Biscoe shared a behind the scenes peek at her first group exhibition and Alexandra Felgate shared a work in progress for the Disintegration Collaboration: “I did have so much fun with this. I’ve not done a lot of collage, but with my papers from my DisCo project bundle, it just felt like a natural thing to do, and I am LOVING it!”.
New writers (click on the avatars to read their works)
Terence Russell shared his thoughts on becoming a better photographer: “I have continually made a study of those images created by masters, both past and present that move me, in order to understand why they do so. Is it the composition, technique, subject matter, originality, or whatever? Once I gain some understanding of what I like, I have continually tried to implement the same elements into my own work. That is how I do it. I’d like to hear your ideas!”
Hollyann had a gig on BBC Radio in Manchester, UK. Cathy Walker had a fight with a fence and others shared their sympathies and stories of injuries sustained while trying to get a great shot. And Lynn Janine Abbott was inspired to create a painting based on a fellow bubbler John44’s photography.
Each week we feature a small slice of the action in our weekly wrap up but we’d really like to hear from you. Is there anything you’d like to share? What was the highlight of your week?

I had “a moment” and wrote this and I was gifted a 1-inch aqaure viewfinder lens (scalped from the innards of an old twin-lens reflex camera) and I’ve been running around sticking my face into things and taking really, really close-up photos for days. It’s been a fun week!

The Touched by Fire blog had a great week for features with this theme There are unwritten areas in our souls, or parts of ourselves shaved clean for ulterior motives. In addition to the features there are other bloggings of bubble art. Check it out!

In my journal proposed an exciting new gallery concept for Redbubble to consider. So far all favorable responses.
The idea is for a "Personal Favorites Gallery. It would provide an instant doorway to access so many brilliant works by so many talented Bubblers. And it exists already. All it needs is promotion and a prominent place to feature the links. To know it better please read on.
And if you like the idea, please make a point of mentioning you are in support to Redbubble.

Just wanted to share a little win with my bubble friends… this painting just won the prize for ‘Best Painting by a Bayside Artist’ in the Porsche Bayside Art Show 2010. I’m thrilled, and have to confess… I’ve just gone and spent two thirds on art materials! Oh well, easy come ( not!! ), easy go!

Congrats to all those mentioned and welcome all you new RedBubblers.
I reckon the ENT challenge was a highlight of this week and it connected a lot of bubblers, possibly for the first time. Thanks RB :-)

Without doubt the highlight of my week was the generous feedback from wrapping up 10,000 words and umpteen links and samples into 2 Tutorials, after several weeks of preparation, one on understanding the fiddly bits of aperture and f stop and the other revealing the real nature of tilt+shift photography.
Mel Brackstone...
Great week with the ENT challenge, and also, Warren Haney is exhibiting his work in Brisbane this week, a must see for me! His work has intrigued me forever, and I really want to see the large format paintings he produces first hand…
Arcadia Tempest
My we sure are one bunch of inspirational and talented bubblers.
So many wonderful achievements, sure makes this bubbler so happy to be a part of this community to see and enjoy with them their success stories. :O))

Back in London, I probably averaged taking photos at 2 premieres every 3 weeks. Now that i’m back in Australia, that’s not really on my radar anymore. Except last Sunday, it actually happened!

Oh wow…awesome stuff…I wanna go to Susan’s place :))
Simon Sherry
Great stuff to delve into here! The highlight for my week was seeing this interview that Damien Mason conducted over on his blog. Not only was it an honour to be asked, but the process he used (back and forth bmails) made for a very enjoyable experience.
Dorothea Baker
my highlight of the week was the arrival of my sketchbook a few days ago, the start of a really awesome project. read about it here

I have to say that I was inpired by RB this week with the ENT challenge. I’d never claim to be someone who could draw with a pencil let alone a computer touch-pad but then along came the ENT and I thought why not. So I did and I was amazed by the positive comments that I received despite my lack of drawing skills. Thanks RB for the fun. :)

My highlight of the week was a feature on a image I added. Went to do dishes, when I came back, I had the big surprise! :-)

Thank-you so much Mel and Lisa…………………..xoxo

Wow, thanks very much for the mention! The DisCo project, like so many here on Red Bubble, has been an amazing journey (still continuing) and has encouraged me, amongst many other talented artists, to spread our wings and try new things!
