This Week......with Mr Baxter by community

Posted on July 23, 2010

When I offered to do the ‘This Week..’ post for Natalie ‘birthday’ Tyler, I thought it was meant to be a rip-roaring account of my heady adventures in the office, but apparently it’s all about you. Not talking about myself is a new thing for me so treat me gently. Right, on with the show.

Here are some new people, they have made excellent stuff, they have put it on RedBubble, and it’s good, feast on it:

Then I have found writers who have written mighty words in what seems like just the right order, read them here, now:

  1. Parmi and Angie Muccillo have whacked their stunning art up on the walls of a café called Gluttony. One of my favourite sins.
  1. Holly Ringland has written a postcard of epic proportions about her travels from Edinburgh to Dorset, interspersed with some 1970s-esque snapshots.
  1. Heather Hartkamp has been winning photographic awards by the armful.
  1. Matthew Dawkins successfully photographed fancy haircuts and has now been selected as a fashion awards judge. Nice job!

- -

  1. MagpieMagic has made freaky gothic PhotoShop brushes, and then given them away for free. Charitable stuff.
  1. David Iori has written an informative HDR tutorial, sure to get people talking.
  1. MatthewDunnart has compiled all the various artistic interpretations of The Phantom Stranger.
  1. Deborah Parkin has been enjoying large format instant Fuji mania and made some evocative portraits.

And lastly we don’t normally like to talk about our own creativity, but I think it’s appropriate to wish our dearly dearly dearly loved Jo some big congratulations for what really is the creative pinnacle, she’s gone and made a person. It’s a female person apparently and came pre-fitted with some appropriate headgear. Good work everyone involved.

This is, of course, merely a taster of things, now I think it’s over to you, please flood our collective brains with your creative activities from the last week…

  • BYRON

    BYRON

Of all the amazing things that RedBubble does for all of us, it is this one thing alone that justifies everything.

All the desighn, the programming, the implementation, the bandwidth costs, the hassles when things go wrong, dealing with members and their problems, bringing artists together, selling product, …. all the heartache and joy that RedBubble means to the staff and members alike… it is this one simple thing.

RedBubble bbrought Jo and her man together and they made a person.

Peter, Martin and everyone else: this is your proudest moment. [your’s too Jo, and Mr Jo.]

  • community:

    Well said Byron.
I would liked to have helped Jo but she didn’t let me, something about a court order.

Time to put Mr. Baxter back in his cage at RB’s office. Don’t forget to provide him with enough food so he can last until Monday. By the way is there a reason why Mr. Baxter is not part of RB’s great support team.

  • community:

Because he cannot be trusted with people.

    Mr Baxter.
