Inspiration: Scanner Art
Scanner Art or Scanography describes the technique of creating art using a flatbed scanner. Scanners can be used to create everything from unusual self portraits to collages featuring everyday objects or macro images of flowers.
Here’s some inspiration from our own talented bubblers:

Les petis bouts de moi by Ghastly
Glasshouse by Murray Swift and Jeweled Horse by Vanessa Anderberg

Losing my Religion by Tobiasthegr8 and No Time by lastgasp

Tungsten flower by Emma Tiley and Scanning Experiment: Tulip by linskudd

Hey, terrific!!!! I didn’t know there was a group…and hadn’t thought of using the technique for much more than flat things. I did this piece last year, by scanning cut-paper and then doing post-processing:

those photos looks amazing, but i hate to break up the party – i studied physics for a while and the scanner is full of dangerous radiation which is really not good for your health! try not to scane your body but you can scane objects…

I played around with my scanner when I first purchased it, doing this kind of thing. I never thought anyone would consider it to be art. I wish I had saved all of the playful compositions from back then. This is very interesting. :))

The first image I saw made using a scanner was by billyboy:

He’s used this image to make a couple of others. I still think it’s fabulous

My first attempt at Scanography. I have a low-res scanner so I was only able to make a card sized image, yet I think this could become a new “addiction” (i.e., more toys needed).
WOW, this is so cool! Scanography that is … Thanks Community!!!
