Being a creative person is a bit like being a sponge. Part of maintaining an interest in art and creativity is to seek inspiration from things around us. It helps to keep that spark firing, even when we may not have the time to create art ourselves.
It’s interesting to keep one eye on what’s making the news when it comes to art and design. You never know what kind of inspiration you might find in your newspaper or online. Here are some art related stories that have sparked our imaginations in the past week:
Banksy has unveiled his largest ever project: Bansky versus Bristol Museum, a full-scale infiltration and “remix” of Bristol City Museum and its works.

Art’s leading lights head for Vauxhall car boot sale
The annual Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair sees popular contemporary artists flogging their art out of car boots at bargain prices. It took place in London this weekend.
When the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair first opened for business five years ago, the notion that famous artists would ever really resort to peddling their wares from the back of a hatchback was a joke.
Tim Burton to exhibit at the MoMA
Tim Burton’s drawings, stories and puppets are the focus of a major show at Moma later this year. The show will include more than 700 pieces: paintings, drawings, storyboards, maquettes, puppets and other work created or designed by Burton.

An invitation to put art on Google Chrome has caused grousing among illustrators, who don’t see why a profitable company like Google shouldn’t pay for their work.

The Eames House in Pacific Palisades, California, is celebrating its 60th birthday. The ingenuity of the prefabricated structure dazzled architects and designers at the time, and still does today.

I sitting here at 12:30 pm Canadian east coast time and looking and reviewing art simply because I have decided to open myself up to commerce online. The music design prints I have put into redbubble are something I created 15-16 years ago to become part of an ongoing thought about how MUSIC can influence the World because I think it is one of the most powerful instruments humanity has to reach out and touch someone somewhere. It speaks in every language it entertains every class of people and has no barriers. It’s played on everything that can make noise, it’s man made and can cause feelings that influence everything from religion and faith to freedom. It is liberty it is listen to all classes of people from Kings, Queens, Prime Ministers, Tribal Elders and every person in between on every continent and walk of life. So to me it is a tool to reach out and make changes, it has no clock no way of being timed it is always changing, it has a way of making things happy, sad, thought provoking and exciting. People have always listen to it in whatever form, it has evolved. its classical, easy listening, rhythm and blues, rock and rock, jazz, tribal, country and western, that’s why I have put these design prints out there. I want them to work to make a statement at ever festival where it is played and makes people happy, excited and taken people that attend and listen to it to a different place just for a little while. These designs might even help create a fund to offer schools bring instruments to children who will create the new music of the future and start the whole process over again and again. Will you help me move these forward. Thank you in advance for reading this and making something happen. Goodbye from Canada
