Artist Profile: StacyLee
When I asked StacyLee what inspires and urges her to create, I received an answer, which made me smile. “I’m a firm believer… we are all sculptors… the word is a canvas.” Seeing these words, I felt a sense of beauty and reassured enthusiasm for life. It reminded me of the late actor Danny Kaye and is philosophy of painting a full life.
StacyLee’s portfolio is a moving collection. One of her works titled Her Prayer is a piece you could stare at for hours in search for self meaning. It’s highly spiritual and powerful. “I am a very spiritual person”, says StacyLee. It made me wonder the experiences of her life and what shaped her positive and spiritual drive.
She grew up in a valley surrounded by “rolling mountains”, as she pens it, of the Blue Ridge in Virginia, USA. Art was in her at an early age. She did a range of activities, which promoted beauty and art. Whether it was learning to play the piano, the precision and elegance of dancing or more ways to produce art. StacyLee seems driven to create something at all times for the purpose of connecting with others and hoping to offer help and healing. Her works have become icons of inspiration for a few people at Red Bubble. This is not without sincere gratitude and humbleness on StacyLee’s part, “I get thrilled when I receive bubblemail… people telling me their stories and how my work has helped them heal.”
Recently, my own philosophy is “when an artist creates art it’s beautiful, but when artists connects it’s humanity.” I see StacyLee’s portfolio as representation of his philosophy. She has so much to offer and is ensuring she shares as much: helping, advising, supporting and being a positive presence. “…I try to give people helpful pointers when they ask… I’m thrilled when people feel comfortable enough with me to ask for help.” When she sees a beautiful creation by someone else this, too, inspires her and helps her own art journey develop further.
